I'm relatively new to GURPS, and the magic system has provoked some questions from my group.
Currently, I am a mage-spy that has infiltrated a group of vampires in order to bring them down. This is a low tech medieval campaign. These vampires are mages themselves. We are using solely the GURPS: MAGIC content, but my GM is open to ideas from other sources.
How does spellcasting detection work? In other words, can a mage sense that another mage is casting something even if there are no physical signs (words/gestures)? How does this work with the Ward spell, as the spell's wording seems to take detection as a given?
What is the difference between Scryguard and Conceal Magic?
Is there anyway to automate a Hang spell so that it will activate based on a trigger?
